Discussion of how companies can organize to effectively prepare and respond to increased litigation risks associated with rapid judicial developments, such as the recent landmark judgement by the European Court for Human Rights (“ECtHR”) Verein Klimaseniorinnen Schweiz and Others v. Switzerland and new legal requirements such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. The panelists will explore key areas, including human rights and environmental due diligence, crisis management, engagement with claimants and their representatives and other communication strategies, essential governance and risk management processes, and the roles of in-house counsel and external advisors.
